The Buonarroti House still holds the documentation without a doubt richer on Michelangelo. The Buonarroti Archive, owned by the House, consists in fact of 169 volumes, which start from Michelangelo’s ancestors to reach the first half of the nineteenth century, and which contain the most important collection of autograph papers by the artist.

Drawing only on what is conserved within the walls of the building in Via Ghibellina, we can trace the thread of a life like that of Michelangelo, so long and full of masterpiece works and supreme inventions, of events and high commissions, of cruci and meditation.
