From 18 May 2020 the Casa Buonarroti page is online on the Google Arts & Culture platform, through which it is possible to make a virtual visit of the entire Museum.
In addition to the virtual visit, you can view more than 150 photos related to Michelangelo’s works, drawings and documents, works by other artists and archaeological finds, collected over the years by the artist’s heirs and kept inside the Museum.
There are also 3 stories (paths):
- In the footsteps of Michelangelo
An evocative journey through the works of Casa Buonarroti: the paintings and sculptures dedicate to the episodes of Michelangelo’s life, interspersed with the masterpieces made by the master in those specific periods.
- Homeowners
A gallery of portraits of the members of the Buonarroti family who, over the centuries, have contributed to making the house in via Ghibellina that “honorable house in the city” so coveted by the divine Michelangelo.
- Storie di San Nicola
The grandiose predella, originally located under the Annunciation of Donatello, in the Cavalcanti Chapel in Santa Croce, which was acquired by Michelangelo the Younger in 1620.
